Description
The main responsibility of this position is to assist the Artisans regarding maintenance, manufacturing, projects, and shutdowns. This person will be expected to work on their own for certain jobs within their relevant area of experience.
Responsibilities
Maintenance:
Providing Assistance to Maintain plant equipment for example, pump, steam lines, pneumatic components and machinery
Providing assistance to Install new machines and equipment.
Responding to emergency machine break downs throughout the plant.
Team Work:
Assists artisans with duties
Follow Safe working practices according to health and safety regulations.
Keep the Senior Engineering technician, Maintenance Engineer and relevant person’s aware of all challenges and seek advice or assistance when required.
Inspections:
Do regular inspection on plant equipment according to checklist and a preventive maintenance plan.
Focus on completion of workorder
Requirements
Minimum Qualification and Experience:
- Matric
- Code B driving license
- Proven record of as a Semi Skilled artisan assistant
- Plant maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (Advantegeous)
- Experience in Conveying equipment, Gearboxes, drives systems, steam components and repairments, and pumps (Advantegeous)
- Tertiary qualification in progress or progress report regarding maintenance/mechanical manufacturing (Advantegeous)
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
- Computer literate
- Communication skills.
- Practically minded & logical thinking skills.
- Excellent work ethics and integrity
- Excellent time management
- Initiative and drive
- Problem solving skills
- Team player
