Career
In 1976, he entered the Transkei Defence Force and by 1985, he had risen to the rank of Brigadier. In October 1987, Holomisa forced the resignation and exile of Transkei Prime Minister George Matanzima, and in December 1987, Holomisa deposed Matanzima’s replacement, Prime Minister Stella Sigcau.
